Eugen Suchoň Award
for Music
The Eugen Suchoň Award in Music, sponsored by the +421 Foundation, honors exceptional classical musicians who are either Slovak or dedicated to championing Slovak music on the world stage. This prestigious bi-annual award celebrates artists who embody the rich cultural heritage of Slovakia through their artistry and commitment.

This travelling charitable exhibit supports victims of the armed conflict in Ukraine. The art pieces have travelled from from M.O.D Gallery in Kansas City, MO through the Upstairs Smoking Section Gallery as well as The Dive in Philadelphia, PA. They continue on their path through Five Points Annex Gallery in Connecticut. The next stop is Angel Orensanz Foundation in NYC where the artworks become an integral part of the Slovak Fashion Night project during New York Fashion Week.

Slovak Studies Program

Our Slovak Studies Program is based on learning the Slovak language and culture through the use of simple sentence structures, everyday vocabulary, dialogue, and short stories whose plot-lines may have an unexpected twist. By using this approach, an understanding of the Slovak culture, language, and mindset can be achieved. The goal is to prepare learners not only for comprehension of the language but gain an awareness and more in depth understanding of the overall culture and psychology of the Slovak people.

Through commissioning new works from Slovak composers, curating performances that highlight Slovakia’s rich musical heritage, and programming recitals worldwide, we aim to expand the reach and recognition of Slovak music. By collaborating with exceptional artists and institutions, we seek to preserve tradition while fostering innovation, ensuring that Slovakia’s unique musical voice continues to inspire audiences everywhere.
